Being more than 79 years old. On April 30th, 1872 he was united in marriage to Miss Elizabeth Steele; there was born to this union one son, Dawson, who died several years ago. His wife also died March 9, 1900. On July 9th 1918 he was married to Miss Alice RINGO, who survives him. He also has two sisters living, Mrs. Mary J. SARGENT and Mrs. Josephine MUTERSPAUGH each of whom reside in Bloomfield. Deceased professed religion and joined the C. P. Church at the old camp ground in the country some 40 years ago. Since the he has been a faithful and active member of the church. He was elected an elder in the country church and took active part in prayer meeting and other forms of religious service. For twenty years he has been a member of the order of Red Men, in which he took great interest, until failing health prohibited hi attending the lodge. Having somewhat of a generous and sympathetic nature he took pleasure in rendering any necessary assistance to those in need or distress.
