CLARK was born in Highland Township, Greene County, Indiana, February 14, 1844, and departed this life at his home in Terre Haute {Vigo County}, December 6, 1921. He was seventy-seven years, nine months and twenty-two days old. He was the second son of John L. and Rebecca CLARK, who were parents of six sons. George W. CLARK, together with his father and brother, William CLARK, all served their country in the Civil War, all being in CO E 59TH {REGIMENT} INDIANA VOLUNTEER {INFANTRY}. After some years of active service both the sons returned home, but the father did not live to return. The deceased leaves a wife and seven children; also two brothers, Henry and Edward CLARK, both of whom live in Bloomfield. He was a member of the G. A. R. in Terre Haute at the time of his death. He was a carpenter by trade, and did much work in Bloomfield and other cities. Some time before his death he made a profession of faith in Christ as his personal Savior, and lived a happy, Christina life until the time of his death. He was kind and considerate of the welfare of his wife and children, and always wanted to be helpful to his friends and neighbors. The funeral services were held at the Presbyterian Church on Thursday December 8, conducted by Rev. T. B. MCAMIS. Interment in Grandview Cemetery. — Link to the Obituary of his brother, John L.
