Surnames: AXTELL, BOOZE, ISENHOWER Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Ci.2ADE/4577 Message Board Post: THE BLOOMFIELD NEWS, Bloomfield, Greene County, Indiana, Thursday, December 15, 1921, Volume XLVI, Number 1, Page 5, Columns 3 & 4, “DEATH’S HARVEST—BOOZE.” [Transcribed 9 June 2002 from Bloomfield-Eastern Greene County Public Library’s IHS Microfilm Records.] Henry BOOZE, son of Jacob and Anna BOOZE, was born in Knox County, Ohio, April 22, 1832, and died of cerebral hemorrhage at his home in Highland Township, November 12, 1921. He was aged eighty-nine years, six months and twenty days. At the age of twenty-six he left home and came to Greene County and established a saw mill near Solsberry, remaining there six years. He then went west and secured a position as telegraph line repairer over the Union Pacific between Omaha and the mountains, during which time he crossed the plains six times. He then returned to Greene County, and for seven years was a partner of F. H. BRYAN at Solsberry in the merchandising business. In 1871 he was married to Mrs. Elizabeth (ISENHOWER) AXTELL, and in 1873 moved to highland Township, where he lived the remainder of his life. His wife died eleven years ago. He is survived by one half-brother, A. J. BOOZE, of St. Joseph, Missouri; two sons, Leonard R. of Worthington and Walter, at home; also four grandchildren. The funeral services were held at the family home last Sunday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. John WALLS, and interment was in Grandview Cemetery, Bloomfield. — We desire to express our heartfelt thanks to our neighbors and friends who so kindly assisted us through the sickness and after the death of our father; also, we thank the singers and Bro.
