Hi Listers, It has been a while since I posted. My Lancaster family came to Greene Co. from Shelby Co., KY in 1845. Reubin Lancaster died shortly after the move and his wife Mary (Dobbins) also from Shelby Co. raised their 7 children. Children were Mary Elizabeth, Frances A., William Pendleton, Elizabeth Jane, James Madison, Isabel and Samuel. All except Samuel were born in Kentucky. Samuel was in Co. H, 31st Indiana Vol. in the civil war, which were referred to a the Jackson Guards from eastern Greene County. Other surnames: Dobbins, Ashcraft, Vest, Fields, Short, Sebring.
