Does anyone have an interest in the old miller Alexander Craig on Eel River in the early l820's? I have reason to think he's an ancestor and am trying to determine his 5 un-named sons mentioned in something I read. Is he the father of James who m. Sally (Sarah) Hart of Owen County who later ended up in Clark Co., Illinois? Is he the father of my g-g- grandfather Thomas J. Craig who was in Clark Co., Illinois but whose sons ended up in Greene/Clay, Indiana? James had twin girls, Thomas J. had twin girls, Two of Thomas J.'s sons had twin girls. I have lots of documents on Alexanders from these areas and there are many repetitions of first names. So...because I've collected records for 42 years I have much information, but no documentation or proof, only intriguing "evidence" re old Alexander on the river who was the dad of Martha "Patsey" Craig who married John Fires, the first wedding in Greene.
