    1. Re: [INGREENE] COLLEEN'S OCTOBER CHALLENGE
    2. My trip to GREENE CO. IN was in search of a cem. stone for my gr. grandfather SOLOMON YOUNG. He married CHARLOTTE CATHERINE TIMMONS 1858 and had my grandfather HORACE GREELEY YOUNG in 1859. He wasnt on the 1860 census but, we found him on a stone in BLOOMFIELD IN with 3 names on the stone. His death was shown as May 21 1861, on top of the stone, and on the left is his wife who died 1907 and her 2nd husband ABRAHAM BOLTZ 1908 death. This bothered me as I didnt think he was buried there. I later came into a BOLTZ descendent A HAMM and he told me family lore was that he died in MO. and Charlottes father and brother went to MO, LAMAR, in AUG 1861 and brought her home, traveling at night, as they were afraid, because of the CIVIL WAR turmoil. I looked in the 1860 census and there they SOLOMON s family were in MO. I dont know how he died, He was only 22. But, he might have been with H.S.TRUMANS grandfather SOLOMON (UNCLE) to my SOLOMON, who lived in LAMAR MO. where H.S.T. was born in his house. My gr.gr. WM.HARRISON YOUNG was brother to H.S.T.s Grandfather. He and my SOLOMON b 1840-1861 in MO. were born in KY. and Jackson Co. IN. Also JACOB YOUNG 1764 N.C. -1836 Jackson Co. IN REV.WAR. H.S.T.s GR. grandfather. They were GERMAN descent (JUNG). To USA 1752 JOHANN GEORGE JUNG YOUNG 1730s-1790 N.C. Our YOUNG line was in INDPLS, IN but all over now. Horace had 5 children, and he and wife LUCINE PHIPPS moved to INDPLS and she died 1805., and he in 1911. The children were moved around and one adopted as a baby. Lucine is buried in BLOOMFIELD by her parents, WM and Mary Ann BOWMAN PHIPPS. Our book is in the BLOOMFIELD library. Mildred Young Rebennack
