RITTER on 5 Sep 1846 in GREENE County, Indiana. I do not know exactly where or when Mary died, but I do know that she was not part of James Ritter's household in 1870 and that her children eventually had a stepmother. It is possible that she died in Polk Co. Missouri, as the family resided there for a time, but James and their two children were listed in the 1870 census in Highland Twn., Greene Co., IN. I have found two SHEPHERDs in Greene Co. IN who could well be related to Mary--John, b. c. 1795 KY and Frederick, born between 1760 and 1770, but I have not been able to make any family connections or to identify her parents. Roberta
