McLaughlin Services Held Here Monday—County Auditor Stricken With Heart Attack; Dies Saturday Afternoon.” Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the First Christian Church here for Albert W. MCLAUGHLIN, lifelong local resident and auditor of Greene County. Rev. Jack MASTERS officiated at the services and special music was provided by Mr. and Mrs. Courtland M. CHAMBERS accompanied by Mrs. Orval D. HUNTER at the piano. Members of the Bloomfield Masonic Lodge conducted graveside rites at Grandview Cemetery. Mr. MCLAUGHLIN, who on Tuesday was elected treasurer of Greene County for the coming two years term of that office, was suddenly stricken Saturday and died shortly after being admitted to the Freeman Greene County Hospital in Linton. Death which was attributed to a heart attack came at 5 o’clock. Born in Greene County on August 2, 1887, he was the son of Robert and Kathryn (BURCHAM) MCLAUGHLIN. He had spent his entire life in Bloomfield where for 30 years he had been engaged in the grocery business. He had served as president of the Bloomfield Production Credit Association here for eight years, and as president of the National Farm Loan Association office here for seven years. An active worker in the Republican party, Mr. MCLAUGHLIN was concluding his eighth year as county auditor at the time of his death. On January 1, he would have been sworn in as county treasurer had he lived. He was a member of the local Christian Church, of the K. of P. Lodge, the Masonic Lodge, and the Scottish Rite. Surviving him are the wife, Mrs. Bess MCLAUGHLIN; two daughters, Mrs. Robert CROSS, of Bloomfield, and Mrs. Joe MARMON, of Indianapolis, and four grandchildren.
