HINDMAN, eighty-nine years old, prominent retired merchant of Odon, died at his home at Odon at 3 o'clock Sunday morning after an illness of a year or more. Two weeks ago his condition became serious. Infirmities of old age brought about his death. Born in Scotland, Indiana, December 5, 1842, Mr. HINDMAN, came to Daviess County in 1874 and for many years he ran a store in Odon, gaining a wide circle of acquaintances in northern Daviess county that held him in the highest esteem. Mr. HINDMAN received his advanced education in Hartsville College. October 20, 1872, he married Elizabeth WESNER, who survives him, with the following children: Lula Dean MERRILL and A. J. HINDMAN, both of Odon, and Ermel D. HINDMAN, of Indianapolis. He also leaves a brother, Elisha HINDMAN, of Linton. Funeral services were held at the Odon Methodist Church, Tuesday, with the Rev. J. W. HARMON in charge.
