WILLARD VANSLYKE DIED LAST SATURDAY." [Transcribed on December 30, 2007 by RLJ from microfilm of the original newspaper on file in the Bloomfield-Eastern Greene County Public Library.] Mrs. Laura VANSLYKE, aged fifty-eight years, died at her home in Monroe County last Saturday, December 26, at 12:30 a. m. Her death was the result of complications with which she had been afflicted for several years. She is survived by her husband, Willard VANSLYKE; one daughter, Mrs. Carrie VANDEVENTER, of this county, and three sons, all residing in Monroe County. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Gilead Church, with Rev. Orval FRAME of the Pentecostal church in charge. Interment was in the Mt. Gilead Cemetery. Mrs. VANSLYKE was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mike NEW, and before removing to Monroe County she and her family resided on the E.
