Brokaw Dies At Phoenix, Arizona" [Transcribed on November 29, 2007 by RLJ from microfilm of the original newspaper on file in the Bloomfield-Eastern Greene County Public Library.] Word was received here last week end of the death of John W. BROKAW, at Phoenix, Arizona. Mr. BROKAW was the husband of the former Miss Helen FREELAND, of Bloomfield. Mr. BROKAW died suddenly of a heart attack. His body was taken to Fort Worth, Texas, which was his home. Funeral services were conducted Monday or Tuesday of this week, the exact date not being known at press time. - NOTES-RLJ: (1) John Wilkie BROKAW is listed as buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Ft. Worth, Tarrant County, Texas. (2) LDS Records indicate John Wilkie BROKAW married Helen M. FREELAND on 4 Apr 1927 in Amarillo, Texas.
