I am researching the parents of Matilda Catherine Burks b. 1841 that married James H. Dyer. I find that her parents were Edmond/Edmund Burks b. abt 1818 in Mercer Co., KY and Sarah Gwin. Sarah died in1869 and Edmond remarried Hannah Wilbier. They divorced. >From the 1880 census it appears that he married Mary Burks - his brother's daughter. They are living with William Burks and he is shown as father-in-law. Mary had previously been married to a Minks and had a daughter Jane age 11. So, it seems his brother brother was also his father-in-law!!! Is anyone familiar with this family? I would like to try to obtain a photo of Edmond and Sarah's gravemarkers if I can find where they are. Hope to hear from someone!
