Shanklin bor 1849 in (probably Greene Co.,) Indiana the son of Abraham and Jane (Dishman) Shanklin. He married Lellia M. Sappington on 4 Nov 1875 in Greene Co. and they had three children, Leslie B., Vernon A. and Nellie. Lellia (Lilly) married a Eugene Hardcastle on 10 Sep 1891 but in 1900 Census is listed as living with Vernon and his wife and daughter (and listed as Lilly Shanklin). What happened to John Shanklin?
