[Transcribed on July 23, 2007 by RLJ from microfilm of the original newspaper on file in the Bloomfield-Eastern Greene County Public Library.] Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock at the family residence in Taylor Township for George Dawson BLACKMORE, 87 year-old prominent resident of that township. Rev. Verl Underwood, pastor of the first Christian Church here, officiated, and burial was in Grandview Cemetery, with Jenkins & Sons Funeral Directors in charge. Mr. BLACKMORE passed away at 1:45 o'clock Friday afternoon at his home following a lingering illness. Born in Taylor Township on January 30, 1866, he had spent his entire life there where he was a retired farmer. His wife, Hattie May (BYNUM) BLACKMORE, preceded him in death on April 12, 1945. Mr. BLACKMORE was a member of the First Christian Church. Survivors include seven daughters, Mrs. Mina L. OCKERMAN, of Bloomfield; Mrs. Nellie L. WHITAKER, of Scotland; Mrs. Carrie B. TODD, of Bloomfield Route 2; Mrs. Mary Ann FULLER, of Worthington; Mrs. Lois M. HOYT and Mrs. Ruth J. ASDELL, or Seattle, Washington; and Mrs. Elizabeth Maxine EASTON, of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania; five sons, Emerson D. BLACKMORE and George V. BLACKMORE, of Bloomfield Route 2; Charles Lee BLACKMORE, of Switz City; Gilbert B. BLACKMORE, of Atherton, California, and James D. BLACKMORE, of Washington, and one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth J.
