Betsy Wheelwright (I am William Robert Daniel) John Daniel (my g-g-g-grandfather) who married Lucy Hite was a brother to William H. Daniel who married Eliza Hite. So John & William Daniel were brothers and Lucy and Eliza Hite were sisters. I do not have much information about William Daniel b. 1764 in VA (Nathaniel's father). Do you know anything more about him? Also, I have heard about Nathaniel having a brother, John, b. in 1785 (1 year after Nathaniel). Any more information on him? Interesting that Nathaniel Daniel & Susanna Eberley's first two sons were named William & John...likely after his father & brother. Also I believe Susanna Eberley's father was John Eberley and her mother was Elizabeth Iseminger. I have been trying to follow this line to William Daniel in Virginia. I have been told by elderly relatives that the Daniel family were French Hugenots that fled to Canterbury, England to avoid religious persecution. The story goes they then went to Virginia and then through the Cumberland Gap to the west. Any further information you can provide would be greatly appreciated. 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: RobertLJackson29 Surnames: CHESTNUT, COOPER, GEORGE, LONG, WRIGHT Classification: obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.indiana.counties.greene/9924/mb.ashx Message Board Post: THE BLOOMFIELD NEWS, Bloomfield, Greene County, Indiana, Thursday, August 10, 1922, Volume XLVI, Number 39, Page 4, Columns 1 & 2, DEATH'S HARVEST-WRIGHT. [Transcribed on February 16, 2008 by RLJ from microfilm of the original newspaper on file in the Bloomfield-Eastern Greene County Public Library.] Ada (LONG) WRIGHT, the fourth child of Jasper N. and Eliza J. LONG, was born near Hobbieville, Indiana, September 30, 1878, and died August 7, 1922 at Robison, aged forty-three years, ten months and eight days. She was married to Albert WRIGHT, April 28, 1900, and to this union three children were born-Jasper, aged twenty-one; Blanch, aged twenty, and Vivian, aged eleven, all of whom survive her with the husband and father to mourn the inestimable loss of a devoted wife and mother. Besides the immediate family of husband and children, she is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Della CHESTNUT, West Plains, Missouri, and Mrs. Cleta COOPER, Terre Haute, and one brother, Oscar LONG, Cincinnati, and one half-brother, Rector LONG, also of Cincinnati; her step-mother, Mrs. Amelia LONG, and a step-daughter, Mrs. Orlo{sic} GEORGE, of Koleen, and a host of other relatives, friends and neighbors, who mourn their loss with the family. Her father died twelve years ago next Sunday; her mother died when she was quite young, and an infant sister and brother have all preceded her into that bourne from whence no traveler returns. Ada (as we called her) was a woman of sterling worth, and to know her was to respect her-one who made home and family her first care, and was untiring in her efforts to provide for their welfare and comfort; a matchless housekeeper and a wiling worker in whatever she undertook to accomplish. Ada WRIGHT was never known to fail to respond to the call of the sick and suffering; was always ready to do her best for those who were suffering and sorrowful. She has been known to go among those who had contagious diseases when others refused to go, an when she, herself, was physically unable to go, but would go and do all she could for them without any thought of compensation or praise. Ada had been confined to her bed since December 4, last, and was a sufferer from complications. That all her physician and family and friends done for her was unavailing, and after a constant struggle to get well, which failed, death came to her release and she went home Monday at noon. She united with the M. E. Church at Ashcraft Chapel several years ago; had lived a consistent Christian life since. She expressed her desire to go, and said she was truly ready. It can truthfully be said she has done what she could. - The family desire to express their appreciation and thanks to their friends and neighbors for untiring efforts in helping care for and relieve the sufferings of wife, mother and sister; and Mrs. George E. Kidd for her kind and courteous services. Albert WRIGHT and Children, Oscar and Rector LONG, Mrs. Cleta COOPER. - Link to the Obituary of her step-mother, Permelia J. 3. Mr. Cline, In 1992 I was at the Greene county court house and was taken downstairs into the Basement. I was shown a ton of records. I for an instant opened up a ledger and noted my mothers family Harrah in just the one ledger. As I was just learning my way around the genealogy business. I thought wow. But was taken back upstairs. that was that. I went back from California about 1996. I was not allowed down in the basement. I was shown films apparently taken by the FHL folks?? I did get a little info. What ever happened to all that material. There was more than just estate books there. I am to old to make it back again. Can anybody answer Mr.. clines and my questions. Thank You William E Shuman
