This DANIEL line is a collateral line for me. I am descended from Elizabeth EVERLEY who married Edmund BURKS. Susanna and Elizabeth are sisters. The Henry P. DANIEL who married Mahala BULLOCK, I have not been able to fit into any of William, John or George W. DANIEL's families (sons of Susanna / Nathaniel). There are, however, two other males in the Nathaniel DANIEL households as listed in the 1820 and 1830 census. There is also another female. I suspect that Henry P. DANIEL is the son of the male born 1811/1815. Has anyone found a will or probate for Nathaniel DANIEL, which might list his children? If you are interested, I have some documentation on several generattions going back for the EVERLEY/EBERLEY, ISEMINGER, NOLLART, and Keßler lines. There is another Henry in the 1840 census in Monroe co IN. he is shown as being over 20 and under 30 yrs,old and a female of the same age range would put his birth year between 1810 and 1820, the William H some trees show as a son of Nathaniel could this possibly be a William Henry? My observation has been that most of these people went by they're middle names almost exclusively. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Lists only one Brandon and that is G. C. Brandon. The following are pertinent excerpts. Pgs 120 - 121 The Greene County Times of April 24, edited by G. C. Brandon, said, among other matters: "We would gladly make any sacrifice that would restore peace to our unhappy land, and we believe this is the feeling of a large majority of the citizens of this county; but no sacrifice now, but that of life, will do, and our people must prepare their minds for a civil war of the most vicious nature, and we may say to all citizens, when the trying time comes, act as becomes loyal citizens of the commonwealth in which you reside." Pg 146 And as this is probably the last call that will be made upon our county, we hope all those who can conveniently leave home will enlist in this company immediately." G. C. Brandon, of the Times, joined the Fifty-ninth Regiment in November, and the issue of that paper there ended. Pg 144 PERSONAL RECORD OF COMPANY D The following is the best personal record that can be given the men of Company D of the Fifty-ninth Regiment from Greene County: R. A. Belden, Captain, resigned 1862; Philip Buck, Captain, honorably discharged 1864, veteran; G. C. Brandon, Sergeant, Second and First Lieutenant, Captain, mustered out with regiment; Pg 203 In May, 1860, Mr. Rose secured an assistant in the person of G. C. Brandon. The paper was a power in the county during the hot political contest of 1860, and was continued by Messrs. Rose & Brandon until about July, 1861, when Mr. Rose entered the army, though he still continued to furnish editorial articles from the field. In November, 1861, Mr. Brandon also entered the army, whereupon the issue was discontinued. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
