Linthicum Cem. in Monroe Co.,In., marr. Fayette Chambers 1883 Monroe Co.,In., having a son Booker Wilson b. 3/5/1893 d. 10/30/1976 bur. Garrison Chapel Cem., Monroe Co.,In. marr. Elsie Douglas. Then I'm wondering if Lawson Wilson 1808- was not a son of Booker Wilson 1770-75 - 1839, then was it just a coincidence that the above Booker Wilson 1893-1976 was a descendant of Lawson Wilson, who was supposedly not a son of Booker Wilson, then why was he named Booker which is a very odd first name, not common at all? Lawson Wilson was not one of Booker's children. From the early public land purchases in Greene County under the Cash Entry Act of 1820, there are two names that might be related to Lawson. The earliest land sale to a Wilson in Greene County was LEROY WILSON on July 2, 1829 for 80 acres in Center Township in Greene County east of the location of what became the village of Cincinnati near the Greene-Monroe Co. line. The second sale on December 31, 1831 was to GEORGE WILSON for 80 acres in Jackson Township near the Greene-Lawrence County border. Both of these predate Booker's purchase of a 66 acre tract in Perry Township, Lawrence County, Indiana near the Greene County line. Since Lawson Wilson acquired his 40 acre government parcel in Jackson Township, Greene County, Indiana June 1, 1845, he may have been linked to either LEROY or GEORGE WILSON Steve Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Hello, With regard to your Waggoner line that came from PA to Indiana, I do not think that they could be related but I wouldn't rule anything out. The Waggoners in Greene county were found in the 1700's, in Virginia: Augusta, Culpetter, moving westward toward Wythe and Russell county Virginia over into Davidson and Sullivan county Tennessee. e. g. Michael Waggoner 1765 VA to 1820 Sullivan Co. Tennessee DID have a son named George who was born 1799 in Sullivan Tennessee. Most of what I think is your line came down from PA into Ohio and then over, Is that correct? I find Elisha b 1886 died in Brown County at age 62 married Margaret J. Vance in 1848 and they are buried in the Becks Grove Cemetery, Van Buren Township, Brown county, Indiana in a 1977 cemetery book. Also buried there is George Waggoner 1783VA to 1881 Jackson county and then buried in Brown county. Also there is Thomas M. 1852-1891 and Silas Waggoner 1851 circa to 1890 son of Elisha Waggoner. There are two distinct lines of Waggoners and we have considered that we are related to the ones in Berks county PA but just can't find any proof. Do you have any pictures? Do you know your migration pattern? Can you send me a descendancy line with dates? I am descended from Michael Waggoner 1765 Russell VA who had seven children Jacob1790, John 1792, Salina 1793, Susannah1795, George 1799, Robert 1813 and my direct line from the last one Michael b 1818 VA. Let know what you think. Linda Sharp.
