He passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Amos ASHCRAFT near Dresden. His remains were laid to rest in the Ridge Cemetery Monday. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Ci.2ADE/4416.1.2 Message Board Post: Jeremy -- I thought for years that Mariah, Edith and Rhoda Goad had to be orphan children of Littleberry and Anne (Johnson) Goad. Newer evidence convinces me they were daughters of Judiah and Rhoda (Johnson) Goad. In a weird coincidence, I believe all four of these people died in the 1840s in Greene County, Ind. but it was Judiah and Rhoda who left the three girls. See: "Goad Genealogy Home Page", " The Goads, a Frontier Family , additions and corrections" for Judiah Goad , Sr.and The Three Goad girls (separarte entries). Judiah and Littleberry were first cousins but they came to Greene by totally different routes. Odd. --- Ken

Their remains were moved from the VANSLYKE Cemetery in Bloomfield to the Worthington Cemetery in 1908 according to the following article: "THE BLOOMFIELD NEWS, Bloomfield, Greene County, Indiana, April 10, 1908, Vol. XXXII, Number 21, Page 1, Column 2: "Moved the Remains of His Parents." Henry BAKER, of Worthington, accompanied by a couple of his neighbors, was here Tuesday for the purpose of taking up the remains of his parents, who were buried in the little round-top VANSLYKE Cemetery on the mound at the western edge of town, and removing them to the cemetery at Worthington, where they were interred on the BAKER family lot. His parents, Nathan and Prudence S. BAKER, were among the very early settlers of this locality, and both died in 1856{1851}, only three weeks apart. There are a number of other graves of pioneers in that little cemetery."

She married a Dagley 1st, then Silas Rader in 1859. She had 2 Dagley boys Emit b. 1847 in Daviss Co In. and Elias C. After marrying Silas Rader she had Richard Douglas, (Rufus) and then Rutha Ellen (Ella) b. 1863 in Green Co. In. (my g-grandmother) Her death record states her mother was Jane Vanmeter, but we always heard Clark. It also stated her father as Cyrus Rader instead of Silas. From Ohio. The 1880 census Jane states her mother was b in Va. Any help would be appreciated. cathc@indy.net A great grandson of Ruth's brother Douglas remebered his grandfather speaking of an Uncle Gus. In the Cincittatti, Hobbieville area I can find Janefrom 1860 as a Rader,1870,1880, 1891 she was committed to Evansville Hospital where she died in 1894. Their records burned in 1943 and I can only find an index where she was committed. Her death record states nothing on her parents or burial place.
