Have you tried the National Park Services Civil War Soldiers and Sailors System. It might help confirm enlistments/and assigned regiments. However, changes in Regiments was common. One that not only has names, but includes dates enlisted, dates mustered out, dates died (during or after the war), cause of death if service connected, burial locations (in the fields of battle), etc. I know those who returned home may be listed in the Greene County cemeteries publication but I'm interested in those who may not have returned to Greene County due to battle deaths, but still had ties to the remaining families and children. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Ci.2ADE/4558.1 Message Board Post: For all who have requested cemetary information. Several years ago Lorraine Krause published a two volume work showing all of the know and still extant cemeteries in Greene Co. This work listed all of the existing tombstones with name, dates, and other infomation on them. The books are available in many libraries. The Greene Co Historical Society had them for sale. Before you make any trips to Greene Co. please consult these books for your ancestors' gravesites. If it is still extant, Ms Krause has found it. Remember that most of the early graves will never be found. Many were never marked, existing markers disappeared through age and neglect, farming plowed them under and (especially in the western part of the conty) graveyards were lost in stripmining. LL

Would there be an open administration office there to help find the location of a grave?? (ie. Middleton's) I don't know how big the cemetery is. Also, in the early 1800's, if a family lived north of Worthington in Point Commerce, would there be any other cemetery I should consider??? Thanks in advance for the help.
