What I can't understand is. There is very few people that know anything about that nickname. Alot of people don't believe it when you tell them Hobbieville didn't used you be called Hobbieville. So to hear someone say ancestors born in Screamersville is wild.

    3. I wanted to update my earlier posting on Ottis CAHALL. I found him listed in the 1920 Smith Twp., Greene Co. census as a farmer, single, age 38. I have been through the 1930 Greene Co. census, so I know he wasn't there then. Was he possibly murdered before then or was he in another county? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you again, Becky Cahall Horvath

    3. In John Sanders, Sr's Will dated Sept. 11, 1845, he reserved 1/2 acre for a graveyard ("graves have already been made lying in a westerly direction from my barn.") This was in Eel township which is apparently now a part of Jefferson twp. Does anyone know if this cemetery still exists and if there is a listing of the people who are buried there? Thanks. 1. [INGREENE] 1850 MOORE family
    2. Marsha McWilliams
    3. 1850 Greene Co, Eel twp census lists a Mary Moore, 57, b: PA and a Rachel Moore, 46, b: OH, Thomas R, 20; Samuel W., 15; Harriet A., 14; Charles R., 12; and a John R, 4. All children except for John R. were born in Ohio and they were all living in the same household. Does anyone know how Mary and Rachel were related? Sisters-in-law? Whose children were whose? I believe Samuel W., Charles R. and possibly John R. may have been the children of Rachel Moore. Living in hh #27 (possibly a boarding house of Ira Imley?) was a Wm. F. Moore, 27, b: OH and his wife Sarah, 19 and their son, John A., 1, b: IN. William F. was a school teacher. Does anyone know anything about him? I cannot find any of these Moores on the 1850 census, so there's a possibility they'd migrated from OH to IN between 1850 - 1860. Is there anyone who may be able to help with these Moores? Thanks. Marsha IL

KY (c1797) - Is this John's wife. Also find other Purcell families of Edward Purcell age 26 (b. c1824); John Purcell age 25 (b. c1825); and Washington Purcell age 28 (b. c1822) - believe this to be the Washington Purcell b. June 13, 1821. Are these the children of John and Elizabeth Purcell?

    1. [INGREENE] NEILL, BUTLER
    2. Hello Dana, I'm interested in the descendants of George Washington Butler and his wife Nancy Christy, to the extent of those descendants of their daughter Mary Ann Butler who married John Alexander Neill. John was born 29 Jun 1832 in Bloomington, Monroe Co., IN, and died 16 Mar 1920 in Pawnee City, Pawnee Co., NE. Mary Ann (Butler) Neill was born 11 Feb 1836 in Linton, Greene Co., IN, and she died 23 Mar 1908. I don't know where she died, or where either of them are buried. I show they had four children, there might have been more.... Nancy, born about 1856 Sarah, born about 1858 Eliza, born about 1858 and David, born about 1859. John Alexander NEILL is my 2nd Cousin 4 generations removed (2C4R). I have more on his lineage, and some on his siblings. I would like to exchange info with you if this a match. The story was something like the men were out drinking and the women were screaming for them to come home. As a real name Hobbieville before it was Hobbieville was first called Jonesboro. It was found that there was 2 Jonesboro's in Indiana. So the smaller had to change there name.
