This site carries a lot of Greene County obits. Leon Joseph Fraser who died 10/18/1966 is there and his obit may help if he is a brother to Cyprian. Many survivors do not allow obituaries to be printed for privacy, costs, or other reasons. Cyprian's SS application would show his parents and you would have a sample of his handwriting if that is important.

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Ci.2ADE/4708 Message Board Post: Bloomfield Democrat Feb 17, 1888 “Gravel Roads” Gravel or rock roads would be of incalculable benefit now, to the farming community as well as the business interests. The farmers could market their products at any time, as there would be no bad roads to interfere with their hauling at a season of the year when produce always reaches a good price. It is true, the outlay at first would be a little costly, but the amount of road tax saved annually thereafter would balance the first cost of construction, besides the injury to horses and damage to wagons on account of rough and muddy roads would be an item of the past; and further, while these roads being constructed, there would be employment for great many laborers, and the money paid out for this work would all be expended in the community where it was raised, thus keeping in circulation a godly sum of money. This is a matter that should have the earnest consideration of every farmer and business man, for they are most directly interested, and let them give expression of th! eir views. Our columns are open for the discussion of all matters of interest to the general public; but don’t get to windy on any one subject.

Surnames: BURCH, FEARNOT Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Ci.2ADE/4704 Message Board Post: THE BLOOMFIELD DEMOCRAT, Bloomfield, Greene County, Indiana, Friday, October 15, 1897, Volume XXI, Number 46, Page 2, Columns 2 &3, “OBITUARY—Mariah Fearnot.” As death has again visited our flock in the name of sister Mariah FEARNOT, we offer this memory of her life. Her maiden name was Mariah BURCH, was born March 9, 1854. Was married to John FEARNOT March 10, 1870. This union brought fourth nine children, six girls and three boys, all of whom survive the mother save one infant boy who has gone to rest. She has been afflicted for several years and often expressed a desire to be at rest with her Savior. She removed from her home in Center township to the marsh land in the south-western part of the county to assist her husband in gathering his crops there three weeks before her death. In youth she was a good girl. She was converted to Christianity about twenty years ago at Scotland, Greene County, and united with the Baptist Church at that place. About eight years ago she for causes unknown changed her member ship to Walnut Grove Bethel of the Church of God and since that time has lived a faithful member of that body. Her last sickness was typhoid fever and in the short time of one week death called her from labor to rest. She died October 9, 1897. Funeral service and interment at Walnut Grove. They were largely attended. Services conducted by the writer, Elder I. F. STALCUP. — Link to the Notice of Death of her Mother, Marium Mahala (JOHNSTON/JOHNSON) BURCH-COLLINGS [1825NC—1912IN]: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec?htx=message&r=rw&p=localities.northam.usa.states.indiana.counties.greene&m=4702 — Link to the Obituary of her Brother, Thomas Jefferson BURCH [1859IN—1924IN]: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec?htx=message&r=rw&p=localities.northam.usa.states.indiana.counties.greene&m=3699
