I believe I know some of this family. If these are the ones I think, the second wife of (1) John William is still living and is nearing 100 years old. The child of Mary and John (Ruth Marie) is also still living, right here in Worthington. Ruth is a wonderful person, is a widow and has several grown children, grandchildren, and I think great-grandchildren. If you'd like, I can see if she'd be interested in giving you additional information. You may write me privately at elliet1027@earthlink.net and I'll try to contact her to get her permission. I don't believe she has a computer, so you would have to contact her by snail mail or telephone. It would help if you could also tell me your connection to this family so I could tell her that as well. Lost & Found; Cowherd - Toliver Wedding ring from 1887 wedding Wedding ring; Lady has the Toliver wedding ring she is going to list on ebay "sometime" in the Fall. It is a beautiful ring, she sent me a scan of it but my computer crashed since she sent photo but it belonged to Mary I. Cowherd Toliver given to her by her husband, Martin Van Buren Toliver. The ring has an inscription, I don't remember what but the wedding was 1887. It was such an unusual design, a gold band but designed beautifully. Surely Mary Isadora Cowherd Toliver has some female descendant's who would love to have this ring before it is lost forever to someone who is not related! Lost & Now Found Photo's; Loeb-Toliver-Quakenbush-Cowherd-Noblitt-Lee-Brinson-Freeman-Matthews-Allegre family photo's. I think some of the families are from Indiana. I am trying to find people who would be interested in having their family pictures returned to them. My husband had some Quackenbush's in his family. A lady posted a message that she had a 2nd hand store and had purchased the content's of a storage unit. The man that rented the unit didn't care to have the pictures and they were of his parents, grandparents etc. His last name was, she thought, Loeb. His father is Harry Loeb and mother Mary E. Quakenbush, Mary was born around 1916. Lady was not sure when Mary died. Harry died a few years ago and the son put stuff in storage & never paid the bill. Harry Loeb was a lawyer in Madison, Wisc. They also lived on a farm in Stoughton or Cambridge, Wisc. Thanks, Theresa Weddell bweddell@prodigy.net Austin, Texas

I am trying to find Joel Philbert, wife Ruth, sometimes spelled Filbert or Filberd or whichever way the census taker decided that day--on the 1870 census. I thought they lived in Wright township, but I swear, I went through every single census image in that township, and no luck. I'd appreciate having a township and page number to help me locate them on Census Images. Also... My Philbert family has many Luke and Wharton Philberts in their family from the earliest records in Carroll Co. MD abt 1722 down to my own grandfather. I recently saw some marriage records in Greene Co., IN and one was a Luke Filbert 1866. Is this Luke on any census index in Greene Co. around that time? 1860 or 1870? I noticed that an Abraham and Jacob Filbert also married in Greene Co. Their names don't do anything for me, but........any Philbert who is descended from the earliest John is of interest to me. Thanks for any help. Yvonne Philbert Self Philbert Sources http://freepages.family.rootsweb.com/~philbertsources/
