    2. Edward A. Scriven
    3. Greetings. I have just found out several of my relatives may have lived in Van Buren in Grant County in the past. The surname is SCRIVEN. I am interested in any obituaries or other information anyone can supply. The family was from Sugarcreek, Venango County, Pennsylvania. One individual we know was Burton Edgar SCRIVEN, who died in Van Buren on 15 Aug 1903, aged 23, of tonsillitis. He was brought back to Sugarcreek for burial, but I wondered if an obituary was printed there in Indiana. According to the obituary in Pennsylvania others in the family in Van Buren at the time were Effa or Effie (Mrs. William MUMFORD), Wilminah (Mrs. A. COLLINGWOOD), and brothers James, Elton or Alton, and Levi or Lewis SCRIVEN. We believe both of the girls later moved to Oklahoma, but Elton or Alton was still supposedly in Van Buren in 1937. James and Lewis also went to Oklahoma by 1937. Another possible death would be Elmira Lydia SCRIVEN, Elton's stepmother. We haven't found where she spent her last years and would like to find out when and where she died. It does not appear to be in Pennsylvania. She was alive in Pennsylvania in 1940, but we don't know where she was after that. She was 74 at that time. If anyone remembers anyone by the SCRIVEN name or finds records of them, please contact me.
