    1. Migration patterns out of Grant Co

    3. I have had some helpful replies about migration OUT of Grant Co. One list member had family move to Oklahoma between 1903 and 1913. Another had family members that moved to Ohio. For those that worked the gas boom, it appears that many came to Grant Co and then moved on. Perhaps it would be helpful to post to the list where and when people migrated out of Grant Co. If anyone had Jeffries or Tomlin(son) leaving Grant Co, I would be happy to talk to you. I believe that Minnie Jeffries Tomlin(son) moved out of Grant Co, but still may have been somewhere near Allen and Noble Counties in the late 1910s and early 20s. My grandmother remembers my g-grandmother, Wilma, talking about how she was not allowed by her mother-in-law to go take care of her mother, Minnie, when she was sick. This was early after her marriage in 1916, so Minnie probably wasn't too far away. Of course, my grandmother also "knew" that Wilma's mother's name was Lydia - looking for Lydia took many, many years - thank goodness for the social security form. It is probably the only concrete evidence that Minnie (not Lydia) was Wilma's mother. Thanks for listening! Annette
