Hello list, here are some of the results of my query about destinations out of Grant Co after the gas boom ended: Oklahoma and the oil fields were the destination of some members of the Boxell, Stackhouse and Corey families. Coffeyville, Kansas was the destination of some members of the Coahran, Hasty and Mohler families. Another list member volunteered that the Fairmont News (which is on microfilm) had small snippets here and there about who had traveled where and sometimes would list things like "Where are they located". If you are in the area, the Fairmont News appears to be good reading and possibly has helpful information. McClain family migrated to Maricopa Co, Arizona about the turn of the century. Another list member has posted that her great-grandfather was employed by the WPA in Grant Co. That is an interesting thought - does anyone know where a list of workers employed by the WPA might be found? If anyone else has suggestions about migration patterns in Grant Co, IN please post them to the list. Hope someone finds something useful here. Annette netandmike@nni.com
