We need to check undocumented references for details, particularly if we don't know where the information came from. This goes without saying. You have a valid point. One thing to recognize in our lineage's from Grant County, IN, is that most were Quaker, of which the men in the families kept ongoing records through the generations, and we find they line up with MM records, that are available for our inspection. With the Quaker, one can be confident they were as precise as they could be, and in my estimation, far more accurate than a lot of other avenues. We have a wonderful heritage. Yes, we take pride in our research, and in sharing. We do need to back up what we find. I do this out of love of family, and a passion for recording it. I am neither professional, nor an expert.
