Hugh Ingraham was born in Ireland 3-21-1788, came to South Carolina in 1791. Married Margurett Cowsert in 1809. Moved to Mississippi in 1835. Margurett Cowsert was born in Ireland in 1781, also came to South Caroline ain 1791. Children of Hugh and Margurett: Jane Elizabeth Richard Margaret *Hugh b.1819 d.1905 Family tradition is that Hugh walked from South Carolina to Mississipp where he homesteaded, then returned to South Carolina to get his family. During the walk he was befriended by and Indian who showed him how to exist on a diet of parched corn. Hugh changed the spelling of the name from Ingraham to Ingram. * This is my ancestor through his son William Calvin Ingram born 9-27-1855.
