Hello Lisa (and anyone else interested): I'm kin to the LEE's and INGRAM's of Johnston Co., NC, too. My gg grandparents were Sam LEE and Betsy INGRAM who were married in Johnston Co., NC on 21 Mar 1821. Sam was a great grandson of John LEE, Esq. and his wife Mary. Most researchers seem to think that Betsy was daughter of Shadrack INGRAM's son Barnaby who appears in your list. Barnaby's will includes a Betsy INGRAM among the heirs, and a Sam LEE is one of the witnesses, but 1) Betsy isn't listed as a daughter and 2) she was married by the time the will was written, and thus it would seem odd for her to be listed as an INGRAM instead of a LEE. So I consider it to be inconclusive. Interestingly, Sam and Betsy moved west to McNairy Co., TN as your ancestors did. They were in McNairy in 1850, but moved to Franklin Co., AR around 1857. One more comment, you have the LEE who married William INGRAM as being named Elizabeth. I've seen this too, but I thought most researchers were of the opinion that her 1st name is unknown. John LEE, Esq.'s will mentions a grandson Shadrack INGRAM, so there's no doubt that William did marry (1st) to John LEE, Esq.'s daughter. Of course, she very well may have been named Elizabeth (and maybe you've seen some sources or evidence that I haven't). Anyway, I wish I had something conclusive regarding whether or not my gg grandmother Betsy INGRAM was daughter of Barnaby. Either way, we'd be cousins through John LEE, Esq.
