Hello all fellow researchers! I know that my 3rd great grandfather, Zion Cantrell b. about 1821 in SC and his brother, Benjamin Franklin Cantrell b. 1825 in SC, married sisters, Eliza Smith b. 1822 in GA and Mary Francis "Polly" Smith b. 1824 in SC, both in Carroll county, GA. I know that Eliza and Polly's parents were Andrew J. and Nancy Ingram Smith who ended up in Van Zandt county, Texas. I am going in about 2 weeks to do extensive research on these families. Was wondering if any other researcher has gotten any more info on parents of Andrew J. Smith and Nancy Ingram. Also interested in other children of Andrew J. and Nancy Ingram Smith. I have another 3rd great grandmother, Permelia Smith b. 1811 in SC, who married Barnett Hollingsworth. Barnett and Permelia Smith Hollingsworth were in Mississippi, Arkansas and Texas. I realize this is a long shot, but I was wondering if Permelia could possibly be related to the other Smith's. My reason for the possible connection, is that it seems that several of the many pieces of real estate that Barnett Hollingsworth bought after his arrival in Texas, were in Van Zandt county, Texas.
