My URIAH INGRAM was born about 1814 in KY, to a JOHN and SARAH INGRAM. I am wondering if there may have been a name change between generations? here is more about my family: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Etta May INGRAM (actually her first name is Louisa, but she never used that)... She is the one who married THOMAS C LONGWELL in Wash. Co Iowa in 1897. I never could figure out why they got married in Washington Co.Iowa, when Thomas was living in Knox Co all that time. Etta May and Thomas were living in Knox Co in 1898 and 1900, when they were divorced when thier only child was only 18 months old. Etta Mays parents were Uriah INGRAM, b about 1814 in Carntuckey (He didnt spell very well) son of John and Sarah -- INGRAM. John was born before 1800. + (#2) Permelia BOX, b 1842 Schuyler Co IL dau of John and Eliz WILLIAMS BOX children: 1. Isabel, b 1864 IL d aft 1900 m GRAYCRAFT, Jonathan 2. Francis E. b 1868 IL d aft 1880 m MASON, George 3. Orville b ca 1871 IL d aft 1880 4. Newton b ca 1872 IL d aft 1880 5. Sofronia J. b ca 1874 d aft 1880 6. Sarah Alice b 1876 d aft 1880 7. Louisa Etta May b ca 1879 m LONGWELL, 2. WAGNER, C H 8. --- 9. Jasper b feb 1884 IL died aft 1900 (was living with grandparents John and Elizabeth BOX in 1900 census of Schuyler Co IL.) Both granparents died that next year, bet 1900-1901, in Littleton Twp. Source: Ves BOX - cousin Uriahs first wife was Louisa ----, and they were living in Camden or Bainbridge Twp, Schuyler Co IL - They had quite a few children together. I found this info in the 1850 or 1860 census years ago, but since the names didnt look familiar to me (back then), I didnt write it down. (I know better, now) I am wondering if those INGHAM/INGRAMs in Wash Co Iowa might be Uriahs brothers and sisters???? OR children from his first marriage?? MY Uriah INGRAM married again, after his second wife, Permelia died in childbirth with son Jasper INGRAM in 1884. His third wife (m: 1885 in IL), was the sister of Permelia -- Sarah Ann BOX McHALEY. He was VERY old by then.... 70 something... I noticed that all the INGRAM children (except the baby Jasper) leave Schuyler CO IL after the 1880 census...about the same time thier mom dies! I wonder if an INGRAM relative up in Washington County IOWA took them in!!! I cannot get to census records, as I have two youngsters who don't do well in libraries. Our public library has no census or index records, only Missouri. I have found there is an LDS history center here.......but with the kids, I cannot go visit there. My main focus is on Etta "May" INGRAM LONGWELL WAGNER. When she and Thomas divorced in 1900 in KNox Co IL, and lost custody of her son Charles, she then married C.H. WAGNER of Monmouth, Warren Co, IL in 1903. She has vanished after this. Maybe they moved to Washington Co Iowa???? Thanks for any help anyone can give!! Valerie
