Hello Ingram Researchers!! Im looking for any information on POLY HAMMONDS INGRIM (INGRAHM, INGRAM) who married a JOSEPH ESTEP on January 9, 1812 in Adair Co, TN. She might have been adopted by the Ingrim family. I have no birth date on her. Her family ran Hotels in the St. Louis area. She bonded out her son, Joseph W. Estep to these Ingrims to learn the trade of hotel work. He did not complete that indenture. Any information on either this lady, or any INGRIMS that might have run hotels in St. Louis, MO in about 1825 or so would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks! Richard Beckman Bunky187@Aol.Com
Hello. My name is Lynn Ardahl-Ingram. I have just started researching my husband's genealogy. I haven't been able to do much with it, since most of his family is unsure of the date and place Sol INGRAM (my husband's great grandfather) was born. Believed to be 1898 possibly in TN or Arkansas. We do know that his father's name was William INGRAM. Sol's son Doc Hite INGRAM died a few years before Sol. Sol died in 1982(?) in Akron, Ohio. That's all I know at this time. Have been attempting to get a copy of my husband's uncle's research... he has the dates and places, but I've been unable to reach him. If anyone thinks they might have information that will help me, please contact me at ingram@shianet.org Sincerely, Lynn I. ******************************************************************** Please visit our Websites: Lynn's Adoption Story and Search http://www.geocities.com/~lynni/ FindMe - a FREE reunion registry for those separated through adoption http://www.findme.org or http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Plains/8011/ Researching : MATTINGLY, INGRAM, FOX/SHORR, ARDAHL, BURK (Bjork), MARGIAWICZ, DOBRITZKY, HALE and others

Happy New Year; Sandra in Sacramento ==================== I've learned that you can't hide a piece of broccoli in a glass of milk. Age 6 I've learned that I like my teacher because she cries when we sing "Silent Night". Age 7 I've learned that when I wave to people in the country, they stop what they are doing and wave back. Age 9 I've learned that just when I get my room the way I like it, Mom makes me clean it up. Age 12 I've learned that if you want to cheer yourself up, you should try cheering someone else up. Age 13 I've learned that although it's hard to admit it, I'm secretly glad my parents are strict with me. Age 15 I've learned that silent company is often more healing than words of advice. Age 24 I've learned that brushing my child's hair is one of life's great pleasures. Age 25 I've learned that wherever I go, the world's worst drivers have followed me there. Age 29 I've learned...that if someone says something unkind about me, I must live so that no one will believe it. Age 39 I've learned that there are people who love you dearly but just don't know how to show it. Age 41 I've learned that you can make someone's day by simply sending them a little card. Age 44 I've learned that the greater a person's sense of guilt, the greater his need to cast blame on others. Age 45 I've learned that children and grandparents are natural allies. Age 46 I've learned that singing "Amazing Grace" can lift my spirits for hours. Age 49 I've learned that motel mattresses are better on the side away from the phone. Age 50 I've learned that you can tell a lot about a man by the way he handles these three things: a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights. Age 52 I've learned that regardless of your relationship with your parents, you miss them terribly after they die. Age 53 I've learned that making a living is not the same thing as making a life. Age 58 I've learned that if you want to do something positive for your children, try to improve your marriage. Age 61 I've learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance. Age 62 I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catchers mitt on both hands. You need to be able to throw something back. Age 64 I've learned that if you pursue happiness, it will elude you. But if you focus on your family, the needs of others, your work, meeting new people, and doing the very best you can, happiness will find you. Age 65 I've learned that whenever I decide something with kindness, I usually make the right decision. Age 66 I've learned that everyone can use a prayer. Age 72 I've learned that it pays to believe in miracles. And to tell the truth, I've seen several. Age 73 I've learned that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one. Age 82 I've learned that every day you should reach out and touch someone. People love that human touch-holding hands, a warm hug, or just a friendly pat on the back. Age 85 I've learned that I still have a lot to learn. Age 92 Please pass this on to someone you care about. Sometimes they just need a little something to make them smile. :) Sandra Eleanor [T.Y.L.E.R] D.U.N.C.A.N purplevw@sl.net <ôçô> SURNAMES & MAILING LISTS CAN BE (ô¿ô) SEEN AT: http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Acropolis/3577 I AM A PROUD OF ROOTSWEB AS OF 11 SEP 1997 & 5 JAN 1998 Support RootsWeb! Go "NOW" to: http://www.rootsweb.com Hi all - As many of you know, yesterday RootsWeb moved our main Web server onto a new pair of load-balanced T1 connections to The Net's core mesh, so we now have a total of 4 T1s' worth of outbound bandwidth. That should last us awhile. The next upgrade we plan is to double the memory in the main list server (lists.rootsweb.com) to 512 MB of DRAM. To accomplish that, we'll need to take the box entirely offline for 2-3 hours and there may be some brief downs after that while we tune things up. The downs will occur during the next 48 hours, and possibly as early as this afternoon if all goes well. After the main memory in the list server is upgraded, the next box we'll be upgrading is the search engine server. The new search engine server will have a gigabyte of DRAM and 45 GB of very high- speed RAID-5 disk storage. When the search engine upgrades are complete, we'll reindex the list archives, reindex the USGenWeb archives, give Marc Nozell all the space he'll ever need for the list archiver (:, and set up scheduled reindexing so the list and USGenWeb Archives searches stay fairly close to current. As always, I'd like to express RootsWeb's appreciation for your support. With a gigabyte of memory costing $3,500 and a RAID-5 array costing $7,500, we couldn't be doing all this without the support of RootsWeb's Members, Sponsors, and Donors. 1860 Pulaski County, Missouri census lists the following household: William Ingraham 31, IL Jane " 32, TN Tennessee " 14, IL David " 9, MO Jane " 6, AR John " 6, TX Charity " 3, AR James " 2, MO Polly Jones 29, IL William " 8, AR Marville " 4, MO WILKERSON Tennessee, David, and John were Wilkersons, children of Jane's first husband Marvel Wilkerson/Wilkinson (ca1810-1858). All three resurfaced in Pulaski Co. in the mid-1870's where they married and raised families. INGRAHAM Can anyone help me identify the Ingraham family? Does anyone know where they went after 1860? Jane and William would have been married in 1859-1860--when and where? JONES I believe Polly Jones to have been Jane Wilkerson (ca. 1833-?), daughter of Marvel and Eveline Wilkerson and stepdaughter of Jane SCRIBNER Wilkerson Ingraham (ca. 1829-?). Can anyone provide her husband's name? Does anyone know what happened to Polly and her sons after 1860? Marvel/Marvil/Marville is a rather unusual first name--does anyone have this name in their Jones family tree? Any help on tracing any of these families will be greatly appreciated. belenda@hotmail.com ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com

Please direct your answers to Sarah Rust, but the INGRAM-L list would like to see them too. Thanks Sandra in Sacramento ==================== Hello Sandra, I hope I do this right. Looking for information on Huldah Ingraham born ca 1776 maybe in VT. She married Matthew Dimmick and died ca 1862/64. She is buried in pleasant view IL Schuyler Co.. We do not have this confirmed yet but we think her father was Nathaniel Ingraham born 1747 in Bellingham MA. In the Yates Co.. History of New York it lists Nathaniel's children as Mary, Huldah,Chloe, Nathaniel, Solomon and David with his wife Experience. As of yet I can not find any information on Nathaniel's parents. Below is a message another list-owner sent to her lists, but I wanted to add my own little insight. By now, you have seen the new tag-lines I have appended to the bottom of each list. This was done in direct relation to another list-owner mailing each of his subscribers and ASKING/CHIDING/TELLING them to send him money to run HIS lists. These lists do not cost any of us list-owners to run. They are given to us freely and you are invited to subscribe freely. The reason that we list-owners mention donations is that we do know that these lists cost Brian & Karen big bucks to run and maintain. Right now, they are adding more disk space because they have run out of room for the archives. A very long time ago, I became very jaded as to donations to anyone, be it a worthy charity or whatever, and I stopped donating. As of this moment, I am a sponsor at the $24.00 level and I am getting ready to send in $30.00 just on general principal. This is how much Rootsweb has come to mean to me. But, as a repeat of my tag-lines, these lists are free. I do not require any forms to be sent out, I just like to have a place where you can post your data and ask your questions, however, there are some list-owners who do ask questions. The same list-owner above sends out questionaires asking personal questions, seemingly in YOUR best interest. In my opinion, if you question any questionaire and the list-owner bans you from their list, you may have encountered a radical. I offer all subscribers that if they have any problems with any other list, to save the message(s) and notify me. I do not have nay poser to do anything, but I can find out more for you, should you need the aid. Anyway, please read the message from BRIAN..........
