    1. James Franklin Ingram
    2. welch
    3. Hello! I am looking for information on my maternal g-grandfather James Franklin INGRAM. Unfortunately, I have very little information on him. He was born in Pointed Rocks MD somewhere around 1869 or 1870. He had a brother who was nicknamed " Dice." He married Sarah Ellen MOON of Newburg, WV (Preston Co.) He worked for Weirton Steel. James and Sarah had several children:twins- Hollis Franklin and Nellie Gertrude (b 1 Aug 1906), Lottie, Edward and Rockford Amile. There is possibly one older than Hollis. As you can imagine, with so little information, I have not had much luck! Any help would be greatly appreciated and I would be happy to she what I have on Hollis Franklin, his son (my grandfather). Thank you, Lisa Welch

    1. JOBE INGRAM
    2. Barbara Ingram
    3. I have seen the name of JOBE INGRAM on the list. My husband's grandfather was JOBE INGRAM born c 1815 KY married c1837 to EMILY BALLARD. He appears on the MONTGOMERY CO., KY tax list in 1838 the same year his oldest child, a daughter, was born. He also appears with family in 1850 Montgomery Co., Ky, 1860 Powell Co., Ky and 1880 Menifee Co., Ky. The change in counties is because of the formation of Powell and Menifee Counties. The Montgomery Co courthouse burned during the cival war and deed and marriage records are lost. I do not know who his parents, brothers and sisters were. Any help appreciated and I am willing to share info on his descendants. Barbara

    3. Hello, Grace; What an absolute delight to hear from you. What I have below, is just to show you part of a huge file which I received recently. The man that I have received this from seems to be one heck of a genealogist. But, I warn you, the INGRAM file he sent me is about 400 pages. He sent it as an attachment, and if you can take attachments, it is well worth having. There is no index so I just use the search feature of my computer to find what I need. 3. EUREKA! Finally! You have a URIAH! This is all the information I have on MY Uriah INGRAM. INGRAM, Uriah b about 1814 in KY His parents were John and Sarah (nothing more known) Uriah came to Schuyler County Illinois about 1835, and married 1. Louisa , and had several children (I am unable to locate my notes on the many children they had together...about 7!). His second wife was Permelia BOX, whose family was also of Kentucky. (John Box of Knox County KY)" (Uriah wrote "born in CARNTUCKEY" on his 1863 marriage certificate) Uriah and Permelia had these children starting in 1864: Isabel, Francis E., Orville, Newton, Sofronia J., Sarah Alice, Louisa Etta May, and Jasper in 1884. This is the time Permelia died, and Uriah married her sister, Sarah Ann (Box) McHaley. (her husband died in 1879) Uriah was a farmer, and lived all around the Schuyler County area (Camden, Littleton), as well as the town of Plymouth, IL in the next county. If you have any information about the the John you are showing as Uriah's son in KY.. please let me know! Also.. do you have a county in KY for them? I just simply cannot find *where* in Cartuckey my Uriah is from. Thanks loads! Valerie <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Dear Valerie: I have an Uriah Ingram b1791, m Hannah Holder in 1809 in Randolph Co, VA/WV. 1. IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
    2. S.E.T. D_UNCAN
    3. Hello, Sandra; Yes, I know it is a pain. But, I have previously explained why this is so important and vital. You may just be interested in genealogy, but most of us know that without ROOTSWEB, these mailing lists would NOT exist. Along about June of 1997, a SPAMMER/hacker "KILLED" the computer (MAISER) that was hosting these mailing lists. Rootsweb stepped in and took us over, all 1300+ lists. So, for a week or so, we were without our lists and some of us started to shake. <G> Anyway, you are not the first or only person to be tired of these announcements, but as listowner, we have been given absolute power over our lists. And for me, this means that anytime I have something to share...that is for the good of ROOTSWEB, then I will share it. Please be prepared for more of this type of announcement in the future. Brian & Karen have struggled for almost a year now. The growth has been from 1300+ lists to over 2700+ in just 9 months. We listowners and you subscribers, who know the story of MAISER and ROOTSWEB understand that I try very hard to make very good headers so as to allow my subscribers the opportunity to just hit delete button before they ever read a word. And, as there are overseas persons, "MY good headers allow them to delete so as not to waste their time reading." That is another reason why I also like to keep them short. So, to Sandra (NICE NAME) and other subscribers, if this upsets you, I am truly sorry. But, as long as ROOTSWEB lets me run the lists that I have created, I shall continue to post various fund-raising notes from time to time. Just watch you subject line and delete when you see anything you do not want to read!!! So what, ROOTSWEB is not worth a measley $10 to some of you, we are not keeping track. It is your choice and mine. Sandra in Sacramento ******************** At 03:01 PM 3/23/98 -0600, Sandra K. 2. Shirley
    3. Hello, Subscribers; Yes, I realize that you are probably sick & tired of me sending out this announcement, but it "IS" for the good of ROOTSWEB. So, if you have gotten this far and are upset, just find that lil ole delete key and hit it. Please tell all your E-mail friends, your physical neighbors and whoever else, all about this COOKBOOK. Let us get Rootsweb some money so we can continue to have these wonderful mailing lists to share our genealogy data. If you decide to announce the HOMESPUN COOKBOOK to other lists that you are subscribed to, be kind, stay on the subject for that list and then at the bottom, tell them about the cookbook. <G> You people are the greatest... Sandra in Sacramento ******************** Hi, folks.... Just a reminder that there are only 3 days left to order the cookbook compiled by members of the Homespun mailing list. 3. Wynell, No, the book does not give the first name of the daughter of John Lee, Esq. who married William Ingram. Many people have her as Elizabeth, but to my knowledge, there isn't any evidence supporting that. A source of confusion may be that William's second wife was named Elizabeth. Plus the fact that 97% of the females in Colonial-era NC were named Elizabeth. Or so it seems. Regards, Rod PS-Wasn't Joseph a son of the second wife? I'll have to check my records to make sure I have all this stuff straight. >Rod, >Does it say and does it give the first name of the "daughter of John Lee, >Esq." in the book you mentioned above, who married the William Ingram whose >will was probated in 1771. See below. I've indicated Barthana Lee and also Sam Lee who married Betsy Ingram. Sam and Betsy were my gg grandparents. They migrated to McNairy Co., TN around 1845, then to Franklin Co., AR just before the Civil War. Now, I've got 6 William Ingrams in my files: Wm Ingram-probate 1771 Johnston Co., NC, md. dau.of John Lee, Esq. Wm Ingram-son of Barbaby Ingram Wm Ingram-husband of Edward Lee's granddaughter Barthana Wm Calvin Ingram-son of Sewell Ingram of Hamilton Co., IL Wm C. Ingram-son of Wm Calvin Ingram Wm Ingram-son of Shadrach (md. Polly DeLoach) who was son of Shadrach I don't have parents for William Ingram who married Barthana Lee. Rod >> Rod, Does it say and does it give the first name of the "daughter of John Lee, Esq." in the book you mentioned above, who married the William Ingram whose will was probated in 1771. This is the family that I am interested. Their son Joseph married Alice Jernigan. Thanks. Wynell
