Seeking information on RICHARD INGRAHAM born abt 1595 in England; married (1) Elizabeth WIGNALL who was daughter of Alexander WIGNALL. LDS states Richard died Northampton, Hampshire Co, Engalnd 4/4/1628 and that he was born 1595. He was by 1645 a proprietor in Rehoboth, MA. I am seeking information on his English ancestors. Can anyone help? RuthThoden@aol.com
HI! it's quite exciting for me to see a JOHN INGRAM, as that was the name of the KY INGRAM that I am looking for. Did any of these Clark KY Ingrams come to IL in the early 1800's? Who was the JOHN you found in the will, any ideas? This is the person I am looking for: John Ingram and wife possible Sarah. Had at least one son, Uriah, about 1814 in KY, location unknown. Uriah INGRAM came to Schuyler Co IL about 1830-1835, had MANY children there, including my GGrandmother, Louisa Etta "May" INGRAM in 1879. When my grandfather was born 1898 to Etta "May" Ingram LONGWELL, she disappeared, and married at least once more, 1903 to C H Wagner of Monmouth Warren, IL. (only source - marriage record found in the CH there) For awhile in my early genealogy studies, I was nearly convinced she was the girlfriend of the "Sundance Kid". Reading her divorce decree in Knox Co IL which described her wild antics and personal character, I wouldn't doubt it a bit. So.. I am searching for JOHN INGRAM who lived in KY Abt 1770-1815, as well as his granddaughter, Louisa Etta May INGRAM LONGWELL WAGNER b 1879, and of 1900's IL. Can someone please help? My dad is 78, with congestive heart failure and in very ill health. He never knew who his grandmother was, and his father was killed when he was in infant. He knows nothing of that side of the family, and I am trying hard to solve the mystery for him, before its too late. Thank you all so much~ Valerie
Am interested in hearing from anyone with info or possible connections to the following Samuel Ingram or his children (as follows). My line of the family pioneered very early in Wayne Co KY by 1790 or so, lived there for a couple of generations, moved to Missouri about 1850 and then to Idaho abt 1900. I have lots of info, pictures, etc. 1. SAMUEL1 INGRAM was born Abt. 1740, and died 1799-1801 in Montgomery Co. VA. He married ANNE MENEFEE(?). Notes for SAMUEL INGRAM: Samuel's will was written 17 Jan, 1799, probated Aug, 1801. He was a veteran of the Revolutionary War, serving as a private in the Cherokee Expedition. Samuel was wounded in the chest while battling Indians. Was appointed Overseer of Roads in Fincastle Co Virginia on 3 Sept 1776, after his service. Samuel and Anne were in Hampshire Co. VA by 1766. Were listed on 1788 and 1789 tax lists of Montgomery Co. VA, along with James, Samuel Jr., Jonathan and John Ingram. Also nearby were Jariot, James and Reuben Menefee. The Wayne Co., KY biography of his son James notes a Scottish ancestry, with the original name spelled "Ingraham." Children of SAMUEL INGRAM and ANNE MENEFEE(?) are: 2. i. JAMES2 INGRAM, b. June 26, 1761, poss. Hampshire or Berkley Co, VA; d. August 01, 1854, Wayne Co KY. ii. JONATHAN INGRAM, b. Abt. 1765; m. BARBARA MENEFEE. Notes for JONATHAN INGRAM: Were on Montgomery Co. VA tax list 1797, moved to Logan Co. KY. iii. SAMUEL INGRAM JR, b. Abt. 1760; m. ELIZABETH MCDONALD, December 09, 1785, Montgomery Co. VA. Notes for SAMUEL INGRAM JR: Lived in Wayne Co. KY. 3. iv. NANCY INGRAM, b. Abt. 1762; d. October 24, 1792, Shelby Co. Ohio. v. AARON INGRAM, b. Abt. 1760; m. MARY LITNER. Notes for AARON INGRAM: Lived in Wythe Co. VA. vi. MARY INGRAM, b. Abt. 1765; m. SAMUEL CECIL, JR., October 24, 1792, Montgomery Co. VA. vii. RACHEL INGRAM, b. Abt. 1765; m. PHILLIP CECIL, Montgomery Co. VA. 4. viii. WILLIAM INGRAM, b. Abt. 1764; d. 1808. ix. JEMIMA MINERVA INGRAM, b. Abt. 1772; m. NIMROD MENEFEE, December 10, 1788, Montgomery Co. VA. Notes for JEMIMA MINERVA INGRAM: Settled in Cadron section of Missouri Territory, now Arkansas. Hello, Lists; When I saw this message from Brian, one of Rootsweb owners, I just had to forward it to you even though I believe my lists are the best on the INTERNET. However, there are one or two who do not know about these things, or forgot, or got excited and sent it anyway. As usual, please flame me personally. It is just so tacky to subject other subscribers to someone elses disgruntlement. If you love these lists like I do, you will be very protective of them, like I am. Here's the reason: Virus alerts and their ilk tend to "ring" the servers: they appear on one or a few lists, get rebroadcast on more lists by more people, ... , fanning out sort of like a chart of our descendants. I've seen one of these posts generate as many as 500 copies posted to other lists within an hour or so. On top of our normal load, this can be *really* hard on the servers. -B -- Dr. Brian Leverich Co-moderator, soc.genealogy.methods/GENMTD-L RootsWeb Genealogical Data Cooperative http://www.rootsweb.com/ P.O. Hello, Lists; Well, here is the long awaited announcement about searches in Rootsweb archives. Happy Hunting!!!!!!!! Sandra in Sacramento ******************** ______________________begin forwarded statement________________ [ My apologies to the folks who have multiple or incorrect subscriptions to LISTOWNERS-ANNOUNCE; I'll get that subscription list cleaned up as soon as I can. -B ] [ This is a public announcement -- it may be forwarded to any appropriate audience. -B ] The new search engine server is now online and can operate at the speed of a full T1 connection. Courtesy of hacks by Dale Schneider, you can search the USGenWeb Archives, now with *headlines* and *updated* to within the last 24 hours, at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ussearch.htm Courtesy of hacks by Karen Isaacson, you can search the archives of any mailing list (except those withdrawn by the listowner), now with nicer *formats* and *updated* to within the last 24 hours, at: http://searches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl I'd also like to explicitly thank the folks who provided the resources that have made this new facility possible: o RootsWeb's Patrons, Donors, Sponsors, and Members. o Palladium Interactive, developers of the Ultimate Family Tree software for genealogists. Folks interested in helping RootsWeb provide new facilities can become Members by using the Web form at: http://www.rootsweb.com/rootsweb/how-to-subscribe.html By the way, the next server we'll be bringing online will be a box dedicated to supporting Marc Nozell's HTMLized versions of the mailing list archives. We should have that box online within 48 hours, though it's reasonable to expect Marc to need a little time after that to get his software installed. (: Projects after that include a dedicated IRC server, upgrading the mail hub, upgrading the main Web server, building a NT-based FrontPage server, bringing a "dirtylists" list server online, and bringing a third ordinary list server online. [ The "dirtylists" server is for the big, rarely used announcement lists. We've developed a number of those things with 5,000 to 300,000 subscribers, and every time a post drops we kick the daylights out of the list server with hundreds or even thousands of bounces. We need a specially tuned box to handle these turkeys. ] No rest for the wicked, I suppose ... Hello, Linda; Well, at least you did not send a *test* message or *subscribe again* message. These mailing lists do go through a feast or famine phase. The best way to find out if you are on a list is to send in some data. Many times, that will get the subscribers to sending stuff to the list and to each other. These lists can be kicked in the electrodes by me, but I am unsubscribed from every list except mine and I am still getting 100-200 messages a day so that does not leave much time to kick. So, that leaves it up to the subscribers to do the kicking. Send us one of your names and let's see if anybody kicks back or is just kicked back. <G> Sandra in Sacramento ******************** At 08:38 AM 5/12/98 -0500, you wrote: >I am so glad you emailed me. James INGRAM was born 8/1807, maybe in Indiana. He and wife Matilda COOK lived in Spencer and probably Warrick Co., Indiana. They are buried in Sunset Hills Cemetery, Rockport, Ind. I'd sure welcome any help on finding James' folks. Look forward to finding 'cousins'. Wilma
