    1. Re: [INGRAM-L] Great Site
    2. Thanks Michelle! Yes, I agree that this site is great.... And here is a hint - Since these pages are scanned, not typed, you can only save them as a "Graphic" image. (Cut and Paste will not work) But once you save the image (by right clicking on your mouse and "save image as <filename>) then you can re-read the entire pages offline! This also helps when you need to send a copy to a friend, all you have to do is attach the file to your email. Enjoy! 1. [INGRAM-L] INGRAM, Berthina;1836-?;Pike Co., IL>Ouachita Co.,AR
    2. Sylvia McAllister
    3. Hi to all, I finally have a lead on this branch of the family. Berthina Ingram was born in 1836 in Pike Co., IL to James Ingram and Nancy DOWNEY. Sometime between then and 1855 Berthina moved to Ouachita Co., AR. She married J.F. SNELSON about 1855 in Ouachita Co. They had one daughter that I know of (my greatgreatgrandmother) Sarah Elizabeth "Sallie" Snelson who married Jacob William SNIDER. If anyone recognizes any of these family ties, I'd appreciate you contacting me. Thanks so much Sylvia McAllister smcallis@mindspring.com

    3. I am researching my family's genealogy and I have come across the name William Dixon Ingram. His information is as follows: |William Dixon Ingram |(s)Patsy Liles |-----|William Bernard Ingram |-----|(s)Cornelia Martha Crouch |-----|-----|Nicolas Dixon Ingram (July 7, 1865-March 17, 1941) |-----|-----|(s) Mary "Mollie" Florence Seago (Feb 5, 1870-Sept. 1936) |-----|-----|-----| Logan Leonidas Ingram |-----|-----|-----|(s)Josephine Koullen There are no dates for William Dixon or William Bernard or their wives. Nicholas Dixon Ingram and Mollie Seago lived in Lilesville, NC, in Anson Co. It is my hypothesis that the two Williams lived there as well, but they could have also lived in the surrounding areas. Any information would be helpful. Thank you.

    1. [INGRAM-L] Blocking Attachments and HTML
    2. Michele
    3. Hi, folks -- Well, it took almost two months longer than expected, but we're right now installing a SmartList hack that blocks file attachments (including VCARDS), HTML messages and enriched text postings. Sorry about the delay: things have been crazy around here. This note is to let you know how it works. When a poster sends something to a mailing list written in HTML, or with a non-plain-text attached file, the list server will send the poster's message back to them, with a note at the bottom explaining the plain-text requirement at RootsWeb. A COPY OF THIS REJECTION MESSAGE WILL BE SENT TO YOU AS WELL! That's because the poster may write back to you to complain or to ask for help, and it can be pretty confusing if they write a reply to a message that you never saw. So when you suddenly start getting messages from YOURLIST-L-REQUEST@rootsweb.com, quoting some ungodly HTML mess that you never saw before, don't be alarmed. :-) It just means the list server is rejecting a MIME message that was sent to your list, and that you may get a response from the poster. This change is not currently something the listowner can turn on and off. Attachments will be blocked from every list alike. This might not be to the taste of some listowners, so we'll consider closely whether it would be safe to make it an optional setting. Thanks to Marc Nozell for finding the SmartList patch that was used as the basis for this fix!
