Ingram Sr.'s father might have been William Ingram who he lived close to in Bledsoe Co., TN and would have been an age to have been his father. James is first found in the census records for Bledsoe Co. in 1830, however the earliest land grant found for him was in 1828. James Ingram is closely allied with the Monday and Luper families and appears to have migrated to Washington Co., AR about the same time they did. He is first found in Wash. Co., AR in an 1837 tax list. I'm not sure where James was from in NC, but the other families that are allied were found in Robeson Co., Edgecombe Co., and Johnston Co., NC. Any help on connecting James W. Ingram to his parents or siblings would be greatly appreciated.

This WINNIFRED would have been b about the time frame you mention but the marriage is not to a ALCORN, don't remember seeing that name. I am a descendant of Tilman Ingram/Jane Amanda Louisiana Gooch wed in 1843, Chester Co SC. This Tillman and Jane A. were my father's great grandparents. One of Tillman's sisters married an Ouzts (last name) and some of the Ingram family is buried in or have tombstones in the Kosse TX cemetery in the Ouzts/Ingram plot. I have information (forward) on Tillman's descendants. Will have to look for info in files if anyone is interested. I would be interested in the Ouzts connection.

I remember a query regarding a Tabitha Ingram, but I did not save it. As a result, I am posting this Tabitha Ingram, James M. Ingram, and Francis P. Ingram, etc., data to this list in the hope that it will be useful. I am a long-time and serious Ingram researcher, so I usually take a quick look at the Ingram data in whatever secondary resource I am using at the time. Recently, I have been researching my Sims/McDowell lines and ran across the following Tabitha Ingram data in a compilation of implied marriages in Chester Co SC based on various court records, etc. In summary, the following is what I saw: Based on Chester Co SC equity records: (1) James M. Ingram married Tabitha Ingram, daughter of Francis P. Ingram, in 1853. (2) Robert Ingraham married Mary Shaw, widow of John Shaw, in 1825. (3) Francis Ingram married the widow, Elizabeth Thorne McDowell, in 1836 or 1837. (4) John W. Ingram married Margaret Ingram in 1852. (5) Richard Ingram married Margaret Cowsart in 1863. Based on Chest Co SC probate records: (1) Tabitha (Bitha) Ingram married Joseph B. Hughes in 1855 or 1852. (2) Sarah J. Ingram, Tabitha's sister, the daughter of Francis P. Ingram, married Lieut. Robert W. Crawford in 1862. (3) Nancy Eliza Ingram married Charles W. Roper in 1829. (4) Eliza Ingram married ______ Roper in 1840. (5) Tilman Ingram married Jane A. Louisiana Gooch in 1843. (6) ______ Ingram married Nancy Turner in 1840. The dates were not consistent and I have no explanation for this. Also, there were more Ingram marriages implied in the various records compiled, but I did not photocopy any pages without Tabitha's name, nor did I attempt to verify any of the data that the author presented. As is clear, there were two Tabitha Ingrams in Chester Co SC at the same time (1853 and 1855), or one Tabitha who married twice rather quickly. Hope some of this helps someone. Franklin

Their son Chauncey Fathergill Ingraham is my 2nd great grandfather. Chauncey was born in Ontario County, NY on 4 September 1815, and died in Canandaigua, Ontario County, NY on 6 February 1901. He married Polina E. Clark, the daughter of James B. Clark (1792-1868) and Abigail (1796-1847). Polina died in Canandaigua on 13 March 1901, and is buried with her husband and parents at Academy Cemetery in Canandaigua, NY. The children of Chauncey and Polina were: 1. James 1847-1848 2.
