>From : Gale Markley <rgmarkley@yahoo.com> Terry, Judy Boie, fellow Sprout family and Jennings Co. researcher, gave me your name. My gggrandmother was born in Jennings Co. in 1843/4. Her name was Phoebe Elizabeth Sprout, daughter of Amos A. Sprout and Matilda Jayne. They were married in Jennings Co. 19 Jan 1843. Phoebe married Stephen Woodson Baker 6 Dec 1868 in Jennings Co. My ggrandmother, Floy Annettie Baker, I suspect, was born there in 1874. My problem is I can't place Phoebe between my ggrandmother's birth in Feb 1874 and 1900. I located her husband Stephen in Texas (living with my ggrandmother and her husband) on the 1900 Census listed as a widower. I think Phoebe may be buried in Jennings Co., but I don't know this to be fact. I do know her father, Amos A. Sprout, is buried there. I am trying to plan fact finding trip to Jennings Co., but need to glean more information before traveling. In a family letter dated 1872, it's stated that Phoebe and Stephen's address was Six Mile Jennings Co. IN. Ever hear of it? Any suggestions? Phoebe was a descendant of James Chilton and Henry Samson, Mayflower passengers. I'm trying to get my paperwork together for the Mayflower Society. I would appreciate any information.
