I have a Jessie (22 yrs old) and Racheal White (26 yrs old) who appeared in the 1860 Census for Clark Township, Atchison County, Missouri. Both were born in Indiana. The census shows one son, 5 years of age. So I am estimating their marriage between 1850 and 1855 either in Indiana or Missouri. Can someone help me to figure out if Jessie and Racheal were married in Indiana or not? Since in 1855 when the son was born, Jessie would have been 17 yrs old and Racheal would have been 21 years old, do you think they would have had to leave the state of Indiana to get married (without parental permission)?
