I did not get a chance to respond, but I agree with the conclusions reached as stated below. Guidelines and Procedures are important to share with the general public - it gives us credibility that we have set some sort of policies to help us provide genealogical data and sources for our individual county sites. Passwords are for the private use of the account holder who manages their own websites, whether it is on RootsWeb, Evansville Online, AOL, GeoCities or whatever. If I wanted to give my password to someone- in the event that I would not be able to make changes tto my site temporarily or I was worried I would forget it - I would choose the state coordinator or someone who helps me with my site.
