    3. I realize that all of the updating on the state page and policy and procedures have caused people to suddenly start looking at what is going on but I have to say I'm a little upset at the stink going on over the Biographies project. This project has been going on for years (before GenConnect boards even!) and from time to time I have updated the INGenWeb list on the counties adopted, urls for those pages, etc. The project was not intended to "take over" for any of the GenWeb coordinators but to be a supplement to those pages. In some cases the GenWeb coordinators offered to adopt the same counties in the Biographies project, in others they didn't feel they could take on any additional responsibilities so they didn't. I have always encourages our Biographies coordinators to put a link to the GenWeb pages and to contact the GenWeb coordinator for the county and let them know what the site was for the Biographies page so they could do the same if they wanted. I fail to understand why some GenWeb coordinators are suddenly so surprised and upset by these pages? Any "inconsistancy" arises from some counties having decided to do the GenConnect boards instead and we do not have coordinators yet for all Indiana counties (we're always looking if anyone is interested). The GenConnect boards are great but they have one problem, once the information is archived some people can't seem to figure out how to find and view the information or they think what they've submitted is gone and resubmit. I find this to be a problem on my query boards but it beats doing them manually. If this is such an issue just leave the link for the Biographies project and don't link them individually. We're getting plenty of hits with the existing link, lots of submissions (we're up to almost 6,000 bios online) and have had a number of counties adopted recently. It isn't going to hurt the Bios project not to have those links and I'm getting tired of all the "excited" e-mails on the subject! Deb D.
