Deb, I am going to put my two cents in here also, because I was the one that added the links to the SQOB page [Surnames, Queries, Obituaries, Biographies] that I developed back in 1996. I remember you message well, about the Indiana Biographies Project, since I was the #2 County in Indiana for the InGenWeb, behind Fred, and I remember having the rare distinction of being the #1 County in Indiana for the Indiana Biographies Project. Along with the marvelous help of Diana Flynn we quickly input 303 biographies. It was at this time that I added links to the SQOB page, as I was doing the biographies links. There were hardly any biographies posted then and if I found biographies posted in the Indiana Biographies Project, I added a link to the SQOB page [some of these links have been up for 2 years]. I apologize to the InGenWeb County Coordinators, if I have offended anyone, but my intent was to list anything that I thought would enhance our counties, not to upset any people. Deb, in your defense, you have a great website, and have done excellent work to pull all these biographies together. Again I apologize to the coordinators, as I was the one that originally posted the links. Now can we get back to our main effort here in genealogy and help in any way we can the people that constantly email us with genealogy requests and questions....... > Date: Sat, 01 May 1999 22:23:10 -0500 > From: Deb Murray <debmurray@worldnet.att.net> > Reply-to: debmurray@worldnet.att.net > Subject: Re: http://members.tripod.com/~suzysprague/CarrollCo/indexbios.html > To: INGEN-L@rootsweb.com > I realize that all of the updating on the state page and policy and > procedures have caused people to suddenly start looking at what is going > on but I have to say I'm a little upset at the stink going on over the > Biographies project. > > This project has been going on for years (before GenConnect boards > even!) and from time to time I have updated the INGenWeb list on the > counties adopted, urls for those pages, etc. The project was not > intended to "take over" for any of the GenWeb coordinators but to be a > supplement to those pages.
