    3. I am forwarding a message I sent to Keith -- although I mention Kentucky he is very right about so many of our Indiana ancestors coming through that way. In my message to him I explained about how lists have to stay on the subject they were intended, and why this happened to him albeit so abruptly without another chance, etc. But in my message to him I also mentioned about some wonderful articles I have been allowed to put on an Indiana USGenWeb project site in my lessons ares -- and these articles are written about Kentucky persons and all types of things -- many times referring to Indiana persons or families who moved from Kentucky to Indiana. Because it also has a search engine in my lessons area persons from Indiana can check the surname and see if anything has been written about or by someone with that same surname in these articles by Ms. Gorin. So some of our Indiana persons just might want to check that search engine for the Lessons out too -- make use of this List here to let other researchers of both Indiana and Kentucky persons get a chance at some additional possible goldmine finds. The http address for this Lessons section and the Search engine is below in my response to him. They are >located at: http://www.usroots.com/~jmurphy/lessons/lessons.htm > >Not all of her items are there but if you look at the last ones it has her http address where she has the newer ones. She allows me to do this so it is like a mirror image of hers in case the site goes down or she loses the lessons (which has happened in the past and I am still seeking the old copies of those). Plus I have the old lessons there which she doesn't have on her new website. I try not to put all of them up at the same time as she has hers so she doesn't feel she is in competition with me for her own articles. She also has a book or several books for sale too. > >I suggest you use the search engine at the lessons address above and put in your surname and see if it gets any "hits". Then use your find or search for that surname on each "hit" you get (the search engine finds a page the name is listed on one to a million times and then it is up to YOU to find where on the page that name is showing up -- and using your browser's Find or Search For is easiest way to do this; remember to use the Next or find next until it shows no more found. > >BTW -- I don't think Ms Gorin has the search engine on her page so this simplifies things -- it has been awhile since I went to her page directly, and she may have put one there after I last visited. > >Now for the first subject -- I am so very very sorry that you got "kicked" from the INGEN List, but unfortunately just as right as you are (so many came from KY to IN especially my 3 counties which are along the Ohio River and where Ill and IN come together (Perry, Spencer, Gibson). But the whole state is filled with KY persons. But the list owner is right too since there are many many lists where you can post about anything and anyone, but a list for Indiana persons is unfortunately ONLY FOR Indiana subjects and one for Kentucky is FOR Kentucky only subjects. > >Personally it doesn't matter, but many persons don't want to wade through 50 states of info plus mulitple country items when they are only seeking info about their relatives in Indiana. That is the reason that rule was made. > >Sorry you got treated that way (and sounds like so very harsh -- they didn't even give you another chance) > >Judy M. > >At 09:28 AM 8/29/2001 -0700, you wrote: >>I recently received the following message From: "J >>Myer" <jmyer_1@hotmail.com> >> >>"Keith; >> >> >>In reference to the two messages you posted in >>reference to KY. were inappropriate on this list.
