Indiana Historical Society to Present Basic Genealogy Workshop in Muncie The Indiana Historical Society and the Delaware County Historical Alliance are collaborating to present a Basic Genealogy Research Workshop on March 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Muncie. Participants will learn where to begin family history research and how to utilize basic genealogy research techniques and resources available in Delaware County. The workshop will be led by five family history experts: genealogist Doris Leistner; archivist and librarian John Straw from the Delaware County Archives at Ball State University; Delaware County Historical Alliance family history researcher Dolores Rench; Muncie Public Library reference librarian Donna Catron; and programs director for the Minnetrista Cultural Center Karen Vincent. The workshop will conclude with a question-and-answer period involving all five speakers. The cost of the program, including lunch, is $22.50, $17.50 for IHS and DCHA members, and $12.50 for students(18 years old and younger). Preregistration is suggested for seating is limited.
