Thanks to all the list members who wrote and gave me tips. It jogged my mind to get out my Indiana Research Outline from the Family History Library. Well, I found a juicy tidbit in there about the census' which may be the answer to my dilemma. Quoting from the research outline-- "A few scattered fragments of 1853, 1856, 1857, 1877 and other county and state censuses are at the Indiana State Library." I am now thinking that maybe my cousin who found Samuel and Joseph Brazzell in Indiana (I can't find them anywhere!) maybe found them in these census records. I do know that she did a lot of research in Indiana in person. So perhaps my dilemma is solved--- but of course now is the problem to get to Indiana and check it out for myself. :) Has anyone ever looked at these fragments or are they indexed in a book? Karen
