While I can appreciate change, options, etc., I do not appreciate getting a new url without being consulted. I keep a surname list on all three of my counties where I was linking surnames, even ones added by the query system. Now I get to spend time updating those lists to reflect a new url. Was there some reason why we couldn't have kept the same url? I think it would have been nice if someone could have consulted and/or discussed this with those of us who actually have to maintain things first. In addition we now have biographies being kept on Biography pages for several states, some kept on GenConnect, obits and other things in the same condition. I thought the whole intent was to try and standardize, make things simply for people to find. Seems like we're getting so many query and input systems and special projects going that we're losing track of letting people find information easily. Maybe we should slow down and reexamine what direction we're going in and get everyone on the same page before the amount of information out there is prohitive to getting in all on one system by our current group of volunteers. I don't enjoy doing things more than once! Like Sam I've said my peace, now I guess I'll go start updating my surname pages. Guess you'll know where to find me for the next night or two!
