Hello all, Many people in Lake County Indiana (and possibly from your counties) travel to Chicago to work due to the higher wages in Illinois. Plus we border Illinois so I'm letting you all know something exists. Know anyone who worked at Cook County Hospital in 1938-1939? I don't, but I happened to stop at a garage sale one day and off to the side I saw an old-old picture leaning against the house...with lots of small pictures of people all over it so I had to check it out. Turned out it was the Resident Staff of 1938-1939 with pictures of each person and theyre name underneath. Wished it was something of that nature from Lake County but thought...well I'll write to the Cook county genweb and see if theyd be interested in it. Well they were very interested...most of the people in the picture had to have been born pre-1915 at LEAST. Sharon had me buy the picture the next day and she drove all the way from Illinois to Merrillville to meet me and pick it up. They have transcribed each of the 131 names into links to the individuals picture. They all turned out excellent!
