Yes I have recieved those on the INLAKE, INLAKE-D-REQUEST and INLAKE-L- request.....and so so so many more spam emails that I'm close to closing my list if it keeps up. By closing I mean deleting...it's always been closed to anyone other than subscribers-thank goodness! Somehow someone got all of the rootsweb list addresses. This is getting tiring. Kathy Huish

The board members on this page are not up to date cause I don't think John West is still on the board. I might still have old printouts of the 'birth' of the WorldGenWeb... first came Jeff Murphey's pages, then the Kentucky Links, then Kentucky counties - UsGenWeb - WorldGenWeb I suggest also we take this discussion to Indytalk -. Somebody mentioned something about USGENWEB not being affiliated with WORLDGENWEB any longer...so, since I had a homepage link to WORLDGENWEB, I went for a surf. You might want to take 8 to 10 minutes and view the page...at.. http://www.worldgenweb.org/policy.html

If you're anything like me - you've got oodles & oodles of websites that you've marked as bookmarks (Netscape) or Favorites (Internet Explorer) Here's how to make this list of sites your browser's homepage: Netscape: Search for a file called bookmark - possibly in C:\Netscape >From the Options menu, choose General Preferences On the Appearance tab - fill in the "Browser starts with" field with file://path-to-bookmarks-file EX: file://c:\netscape\bookmark.htm Explorer: Search for a folder called Favorites - possibly in C:\Windows >From the View menu, choose Internet Options On the General tab - fill in the Address field with file://path-to-Favorites-folder EX: file://c:\windows\favorites\ This will bring up a window that looks like My Computer - with shortcuts to your marked website. The last few days I've seen a lot of spam. It seems I get a lot of the messages at least three times...When rootsweb.abuse notifies me that what looks like spam was sent to my county list, when the spam message is rejected by rootsweb for not being on the subscriber list for my county list and I also get spam coming into my email address directly. Hello again, Yes some of mine look like theyre coming from Lady6pack@aol.com also so I checked for a member profile since I'm on aol and there was none. Some mass emailers use something that changes their address and it's hard to figure out if thats real or not. Usually I forward it to tosspam@aol.com and if they get so many from one address they do something about it. Beware...if your on aol and forward to tosspam it might look like yer getting spammed from rootsweb.com! I wish I could forward those spammers but...I'm afraid it might look like From:rootsweb. Btw...I miscounted the spams, I'm up to like 6-7 just this morning. Kathy
YES! I have gotten at least 5 this morning and quite a few over the past week of that "we blocked some spam from your list" Is there any way we can put an end to this?? If it's from the same people (a few the other night were all from the same address with the same ad) is it considered harrassment after so many? These freak spammers are like stalkers and are getting really annoying...dont they know we pretty much delete every email they send without reading it and theyve wasted their money on mass-email companies? Frustrated in Lake County Kathy Huish
Betty; Guess I'm lucky, only had one , but it also came from Lady6pack@aol.com Collin ---------- > > Gene it's worse this morning - I had about 40 last night and in the last > hour I have had 12.
