Tom Agan has asked that Dubois County be placed up for adoption. Tom will continue to be the coordinator of Orange county. Tom as always does a good job and we are thankful he will still be with us. If someone is interested in Dubois County - please let me know. Amy will be placing it on the Orphan/Adoption page as being available. Betty a/k/a - Kyseeker of Kentucky and Indiana
Hello everyone! I know figures aren't everything but adding the Oklahoma Memorial to the page for tomorrow I looked at our page counter and folks - we stand 13,268 hits from 400,000. Our anniversary date is Jun 19, 1999 and wouldn't it be nice for it to hit 400,000 by then... How many of you have a page counter on your county pages.... On our anniversary/birthday I'd love to count up all the hits for curiosity sake. but as I say FIGURES AREN'T EVERYTHING - 'until this ole 62 year old woman looks in the mirror' Betty a/k/a - Kyseeker of Kentucky and Indiana
Hi all, The Wabash Co, IN USGenWeb page has moved to: http://www.rootsweb.com/~inwabash/ Please update links when you get a chance. Would each of the county coordinator's drop me a short "keep in touch" email? I'd like to know how each of you are getting along? Include in your message your current email address, mailing address (for personal use only) and counties. I like to to Congratulate John West and Gilbert Schmitt on receiving awards from the Tri County Genealogical Society located in Evansville this past week. They have both done a marvelous job with research in many fields and ways of genealogy. Give these guy's an ole pat on the back! Betty a/k/a - Kyseeker of Kentucky and Indiana
Betty, Thanks for all of the kind words earlier. It was really appreciated. You were the one that convinced me to takeover the Franklin County website in August of 97. I will always be around and a thorn in some people's side....I can't give it up completely. I just had a big match for the heavyweight title last weekend, when my valet turned on me and through salt in my face....don't you hate that. I am having the time of my life as the Assistant Commissioner of the organization. http://www.wcwo.com/photo/10connersville.htm There are some pics from this past weekend. My match is the third on the list. I will be glad to still help anyway I can Randy Klemme -----Original Message----- From: Betty Sellers <kyseeker@dynasty.net> To: INGEN-L@rootsweb.com <INGEN-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Friday, April 16, 1999 9:29 PM Subject: INDIANA COUNTIES >Would each of the county coordinator's drop me a short "keep in touch" >email? Hello everyone - I am posting this to the InGenWeb-L list instead of the Indytalk list as I want 'all' coordinators to be contacted. I have contacted our appointed committee who have been working on the guideliness and requirements for InGenWeb and have asked they complete their task. I have asked that these requirements and guidelines be completed and voted on before August 1st and a SC elected. I'd like for Indiana to be comfortable with their requirements and guidelines in place before I leave. This also make me feel I haven't let any of you down. You all know how I feel about Indiana - it is 'first' in my books after the individuals counties... My husband and I got a bad report in Indy this week on Bill's biopsy. He is in REJECTION. It is serious and I feel that I have tried to do my best .. Please be assured that I love INDIANA Indiana county corrdinator's are the best and I've never seen any organization work together as well we Indiana does. Your ASC - Lori Hoffman is a helper to us all - and I thank her so much... Betty a/k/a - Kyseeker of Kentucky and Indiana

One of our Ms County Coordinator's has lost everything last night in a tornado disaster... I am passing on the following email which might be of interest to you.... Betty =========== Thanks for letting us know, Ginger. Was this tornado last night? I'd not heard anything about this until now although the Kosovo news is taking most of the headlines. I'd also wondered why Terry's address had bounced off the list. If you speak with either her or her family again please let them know they are in our prayers. If you want to participate, here's what you need to do: Drop me a line at quiltinpig@aol.com letting me know you're planning to participate. Get a 12 x 12 square of cotton fabric, white or pastel (prints are okay as long as they're pale--you don't want the fabric to overpower the writing). Get a fabric marker (easiest to find is Sharpie's rub-a-dub laundry marker...a regular Sharpie is *not* permanent on fabric) and sign your square and write whatever you want to say to Terry on it. Mail it to me at 15900 Avalon, South Holland, IL 60473 to arrive on or before April 21st. I will make one quilt (can put squares front *and* back if there are enough), and if there are more squares than that, I'll do whatever seems appropriate, depending on quantity (pillow tops, other quilt tops, etc. If there is enough for a second quilt, I may ask for a volunteer to sash and tie that one..... All signature squares will get to Terry one way or another. At least they'll start back out with *something* that's clearly not brand-new-store-bought, that feels sort of homey.<G> piglet (megan zurawicz) ICQ: 18429839 genealogy-- http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~piglet quilting-- http://pages.prodigy.net/mspiglet theatre-- http://members.aol.com/tupacratz/poohpix.htm
While we are talking about the LDS site -- try this address of theirs too -- the bottom has some blank census forms you can use too. Wonderful LDS Source guide page: http://32.96.111.13/sg/ Here are some more problems I have found with the LDS searching site. If anyone has an email address for the LDS persons who are making this site I would like to send these comments to them (since their feedback is not working): 4) The link to do a more refined search is NOT working 5) The keyword search DOES accept surname only (again case sensitive -- use like this: Sandage 6) If you get an error message about nothing found, the box on this error message page to resubmit another keyword search does NOT work, you must return to previous page and use the other box -- tried this with several names that I knew had hits and never could get it to work. 6) If you get answers to a keyword search and it shows that you have some sourceguides as "hits", when you click on the TITLE link -- this does NOT work -- always gives you the HTTP Error 404 -- contact your administrator as page does not exist, etc. When I glanced at the address it appears that it is not putting in WHICH source guide it is to go to, only the page number of same. Judy M.
Here are some problems I have found with that LDS site 1) you MUST put both a first and last name (their error message is same size as the instructions and puts it immediately under the instructions about this - not readily noticeable) 2) This is a Case-Sensitive database which means if you use all caps for the surname it is NOT working and gives a message you need to put first and last name even though you DID have this -- so you must type in names like this: Mary Brose John Raabe NOT BROSE OR RAABE!!! 3) The link to give them feedback is NOT working 4) The link to do a more refined search is NOT working Judy M.
Realized the original message with info that LDS site and address never got sent out and was in queue -- here it is. sorry. > > From: dlelliott@west.raytheon.com > > Subject: LDS Search Site Up and Running > > Date: Tuesday, March 30, 1999 7:00 PM > > > > > > Hi Everyone, Looks like the LDS search site is up and running now at > > > > http://32.96.111.13/default.asp > > > > They have IGI/North America, Ances. I had just sent info that the LDS was online and did a search for a friend and wanted to share with you what type of results I got -- this is part 1 of 2 Thought that it would only be the LDS records of who has been put into their records for the membership, etc. but there is LOTS more. (I had to wait 35 min for the response to come back for my search and had to try off and on for half an hour just to get to the site, but it appears that the wait will be WELL WORTH IT). Here is one of the addresses that LDS came up with on my query (I did note that it is not EXACT hits like when I put a first and last name it picked out the last name as a "hit". http://www.mindspring.com/~jogt/kygen/slavedoc.htm When I went there it had lots of wills -- actually where someone had typed these up -- for instance: KENTUCKY Woodford Co., KY Circuit Book C., p.65 See Fayette Co. Thanks to all who responded to my questions... The mailing list I created is NOT thru Rootsweb... It's the Prifogle Family Mailing List... If any of you know any Prifogles or know anyone who would be interested in joining (lotsa Prifogles in Franklin & Fayette Counties), please let them know about this... It's just a list to share genealogy findings, family stories & lore, get to know each other, etc... Maybe we can have a reunion someday! :) Anyway, they can send an email to majordomo@gmbweb.com with the words "subscribe prifogle-family" (without the quotes) in the body of the email... Thanks again for all your help!! Sue Otte, once a Prifogle

Check the one you want, go down to the bottom, enter your password and click "edit message". When done click post. It's then displayed. If you need more corrections, just hit "Back" to go back to the edit screen.
