    3. Hi, fellow list members! I just read Pat Kantzer's post to the list today about her Franklin Co. Webb and Hackleman ancestors who were born in Abbeville, SC and Scott Co., KY, respectively. Since I too have ancestors who were born in SC (I think Abbeville) and moved to Scott Co., KY, and then came to Franklin Co., IN in the very early 1800s it got me to thinking about the migratory route they took. A researcher asked me, after hearing about the route they took, if they were Quakers. I think there is a good chance my family was or at least had a Quaker background. Anyway, are there others who are researching ancestors in Franklin Co. whose ancestors came to Franklin Co. early in the 1800s from either or both of these places? If so maybe we could compare notes. My ancestor, Jeremiah WILLIAMS, was in SC, some say Abbeville, from 1780 at least to 1799. His children were Samuel b. 1780, Elizabeth, George, William, Thomas, James, John b. 1796, and Milburn b. 1799. Sometime after Milburn's birth the family left SC. I found a Jeremiah Williams in Scott Co., KY in an 1800 tax list. I haven't proven that is is my Jeremiah, though. I believe he and his family arrived in Franklin Co., IN by about 1807-08. Jeremiah died in 1812 in Franklin Co. His widow, Mary Ann, moved (or there was a boundary change) to Fayette Co. by about 1817-1819. Several of the children of Jeremiah and Mary Ann married in Fayette Co. Mary Ann married Jacob Hackleman in Fayette Co. in 1824, and she died in Rush Co. in 1825. I would love to hear from anyone whose Franklin Co. ancestors' migrations paralleled those of my Williams family. Mari Nielsen
