The entire rootsweb was spammed a number of times in the last 24 hours. There is a spam detecter on all rootsweb mailing list accounts, however when it is hit so many times and a very short period of time, it cannot keep up. when a spamming e-mail hits our list it comes to me if it is caught by the computer, I received 11 messages that it caught and I think only 1 or 2 went to the whole list. So that means the percentages were very high. I have no control over the spamming by unauthorized people. The only other alternative is to have a closed list and I have to approve each and every e-mail before it goes to the list, and I will be honest I do not have the time to be a babysitter so that means we either have to put up with one or two slipping through the crack of the main computer in California when it is bombarded or we have to take the list completely down....
