    1. Re: [INFRANKLI-L] Surnames: Bess, Phenis, Hoppas
    2. Hi! We're related! I too descend from the Phenis line and though Hoppas in not my direct line it fits into to my family. Anthony Hoppas(Hoppes,Hoppis) was married to Florence Arabella Phenis, a sister of my ancestor, Sarah Elizabeth. They are the children of Abraham and Sarah Jane (Davis) Phenis. I'd be happy to hear from you and exchange information. Debbie Engelking 393 Courtney Arch Virginia Beach, VA 23452

    1. [INFRANKLI-L] no accolades
    2. randy klemme
    3. I was not looking for any accolades on the look and information we have ALL put on the website. I merely have so much going on in my personal life at the moment. I am working two jobs....approximately 60-65 hours a week....I make my pro wrestling debut in the ring on Friday and no I am sick as a dog and on my way to bed as I write this. The obituary decision was based on the lack of time. It took so much time to scan, edit and post. Maybe I can get caught up somewhere down the road. I have through July posted I believe maybe just to June. As for the naturalization records...They will return....Karen Creamer has graciously offered her help and I will be taking her up on that since she lives so close to me. (my wife is handing me a swig of nyquil----UGH!!!!!).... But anyway, I appreciate the comments, but I more importantly appreciate everyone for helping build the website. At last report, our website ranked 402nd in the world in the hobby classification...That's cool too.... you can see the enthusiasm with this website when so many posted their surnames in such a short time span... A side note...Rootsweb lost part of their main computer late last week...which included this list...so if you received some old messages...that was the reason.... Good Night Randy Klemme Franklin County Genealogy Coordinator

    2. Hi. My husband is from the Stokes line. I believe your husbands great+ grandfather and mine were the same man--Mahlon Stokes. Mahlon's father was William. That is as far as I have gotten in our research. Did you contact Juanita Reedy a while back? Someone did and she had some things I had given her on the Stokes line. According to the obituary for Mahlon, he had siblings including some half-siblings also. Mahlon is the only one of George's children I have any knowledge of. Do you have any leads? Would enjoy working on this with you. Bonnie
